Girls Night Out

Girls night out was fun yesterday.  I met up with some of my friends at this beauty event called Salon Ziba for a free hair and manicure treatment.  The event handed us a goody bag and then was escorted to the drinking table.  Then we made our way to the cupcake and cookie stand and grabbed a bite.  Later on we decided to head to the 2nd floor to see what we wanted to do.  I decided to do my hair, while my  friend was standing on line for a manicure treatment.  Then I was kindly escorted by this lady who worked my hair.  She asked what I wanted, so I told her I want to get my hair curl.  She curled my hair and it was pretty nice because I hardly ever get my hair curl.   While I was waiting for my friend,  I checked out some of the goody stuff that was inside the bag.  I have to say I got pretty good stuff.  I got Semi-Precious Marble Blush, along with a some hair products.  Here's a pic of what I got in the goody bag.

What are Sun Spots

A week ago I saw these bad dark spots blemishes near my cheekbones.  I was wondering what it is and at first I though it was freckles.  Then I did an intensive search online and realized that I have sun spots on my face.

What is sun spots? - source from http://www.drugstore.com/

Sun spots caused by excessive exposure to the sun are called solar lentigines. They’re also called "age spots" or "liver spots." They appear as dark, flat, discolored patches on the skin. To prevent this type of sun spot, avoid excessive sun exposure and use a sunscreen of SFP 15 or higher. Treatment of solar lentigines often includes skin bleaching agents, which are available over the counter and by prescription. Full fading can take from three weeks to six months. Freezing or laser treatments may be used to get rid of sun spots in some cases.

The Flip Video Store

I always wanted to get a video camcorder to just record certain things to keep it for memories sake. I would like to keep some daily recorded videos of my daughter, so that I can relive my memories of watching her in the future.  So I searched for this particular website called The Flip Video Store on their site and my budget range was within $150 -$200.  One cool thing is that you can customize your video camera design and I also stumbled upon these amazing Hello Kitty Themes

Anything that has Hello Kitty on it, I'll go crazy for.  I'm pretty much seduced by Hello Kitty when I was very young.  My mother would get a lot of Hello Kitty stuff for me when I was younger.

It is so tempting and I really want to get this flip video for my birthday, unfortunately my husband and I are trying to save the money for a home.  Anyway, I thought I would like to share this that there is a $10 dollar off discount code: FLIP10, if you purchase any of the Flip Video.

BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF 18

Today I tried something new, that was given to me awhile ago.  Since the weather is getting warmer I really don't like to use heavy foundation.  Sometimes heavy foundation gets my face oily due to the heat.  So I decided to try on a tinted foundation moisturizer and additionally I wasn't feeling too well.  I tried the no to less make-up look today.  Just tinted moisturizer and my Stila Peony lip & cream  blush to go.  It gave me a soft dewy healthy look, although I wish I had gotten the chance to take a pic but I was in a hurry to go out.  I still haven't gotten a chance to find where my camera charger is.  My camera charger is still missing, so I've been lacking on taking picture of myself.  Anyway back to the tinted moisturizer, that was given to me is called BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF 18 in medium.  I really like the light coverage because it wasn't too thick.  I really like this tinted moisturizer because it's light and it'll be perfect to use during summer time.  I will try to compare the BalmShelter with the  Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer to see which one I like better in the next few days.

To be continue

The Dress

So I recently purchase my red dress from Anthropologie and received the package within few days. Once I opened the box, I immediately tried on the dress. At first I was okay with it, it didn't look too bad. I just think it wasn't right for the season, it was more for something to wear during the fall time. I'm not so sure if I want to return it, because it was a perfect fitting and it's very comfortable. Also I read the reviews and totally agree what the reviewers said, that it fits perfectly on every shapes. Also the retail price was $148 and dropped down to $49.95, that's like 75% off of the original price tag. Another thing is whenever I shop at Anthropologie sale section, I'm never able to find anything that I like. The problem at the store is there are many people there and it is always so crowded, so it doesn't feel like I really enjoy my shopping spree event. Will try to enclose a picture of the new dress.

New Layout

Fixed and edited minor changes on this new layout and hope you'll like it. I have not been feeling well. I got a sore throat plus pink eye, so I'll be staying home for a few days. Pink eye is very contagious and plus I really don't want my left eye to get any worst then it is already. So this morning I wikipedia about pink eye

Pink eye is known as Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis (commonly called "pink eye" or "Madras eye") is an acute inflammation of the conjunctiva (the outermost layer of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids), most commonly due to an allergic reaction or an infection (usually viral, but sometimes bacterial).

Mask shopping

Recently, I went to a local Chinese Drugstore near my home. My intention was to look for tissue packets, so I can put some in my new purse. Until I saw some mask that was stored on the self, I grabbed one box just to try it out. I really enjoying using these mask especially during summer time. It feels really comfortable and very relaxing on a typical hot summer, while the fan is blowing at you. I really don't care what it contains, but I like it that it's very hydrating. I like the coldness that once it is applied on my face . As for fitting wise, it doesn't really fit me that well. I believe that it's a universal size, like one size should fit all. The mask that I brought is called, My Beauty Diary - Provence Lavender and you can get it online at sasa.com I got mine for $18, but I believe the price varies from different places and also online prices.

I'm committed to stop

I'm committed to stop splurging on make ups for the mean time. I have too much products that are still not fully used. I'll just work what I have at home for tutorial base whenever I have the time. Since the weather has been getting warmer I'm starting to go out more. There are some events my girlfriends and I have planned, so I'm excited for the upcoming days. I'm looking forward for shopping some new clothes and I'm checking out some of the stuff at Anthropologie. Last spring I got a very cute Green Wool jacket. This year I want to get a nice dress, but debating on that. I'm not a dress person, I prefer to wear pants more than dresses. Saw some nice dress and I'm thinking on the dress posted below, one in Navy, but I'm not so sure about it cause I don't have a slim figure. I love this knitted dress and kick it up with a high boots should be nice. I finally I ordered my purse. I can't wait till my purse come. I purposely chose a simple purse to match my every day style whenever I'm heading out.

Update, I ordered the dress and decided to order Red instead because I have too much navy colors in my closet. Can't wait when it arrives and hope it looks good. I like the crinkles on bottom of the dress.

I'm not that tech savvy

This is not a make up review, but a tech review. I'm not a tech savvy type of person, besides web designing and coding html. Recently my husband upgraded my cellphone. He's a sweetheart, he gave up his iphone and downgraded to a htc phone and I got a Samsung Moment™ with Google™ touch screen. I miss his iphone, because of the simple and straight forward navigation. With the new cell phone that I got, I'm not tech savvy. I have no idea how to get around until I have to read the manual. I made some minor error and plugged my gmail and there's no way to sign out of it, unless I reconfigure my memory card. I like the capablities that I can download free wallpapers and ring tones. I like the ring tones features because it allows me to assign certain ring tones to my contacts. I also could watch cable shows on my phone, some of the network shows includes Disney & Syfy Channels. That helps me entertain my daughter letting her watch the Disney Channel on my phone. The phone itself a bit bulky and that it drains my battery really fast if you leave certain apps on. My husband told me to download an app killer to kill my apps so that it helps me shut down the apps. Some apps automatically runs on its own without me turning it on which I find it annoying, but I learned to like it over the time I was using it. As for the camera, although it's doesn't have a high megapixel the picture quality look pretty good whenever I'm taking a picture. Overall I'm pretty satisfy with this phone and I really like the apps that I can download for free.

New Items

I got some new items, I got a new lipstick and a cream blush from Sephora. The new lipstick I got is Too Faced Luxury of Lip in color Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. I love that name, it reminded me of a show called Brady Bunch. In one of the scene her sister Jane called her name, because the older sister have been getting a lot of attentions from school.

How do you get rid of your blackheads?

Few years ago I would buy Biore blackhead remover to remove my blackheads. Till this day I still really like their products, but I haven't used in awhile until I was introduced to Ricky Care Stainless Steel Loop Blackhead Remover. The only thing I didn't like about the strips was that after removing the strip; my nose instantly gets dry. A lot of my blackheads still remains in my nose and there were some blackheads wasn't able to grasp onto the strip. So I recently brought a black head remover and what I really like about this, is that you can manually remove a lot of your blackheads out on your own. I have a better control and can grab a lot of my unwanted blackheads. Here's a close of picture of my oily blackheads of how much I removed from my nose. I know it's disgusting but this stainless steel blackhead remover, removed a lot of my blackheads and have minimized my pores.

Back in the old days when I was a teenager, I used to removed my blackheads manually with my fingers and realized that it aggravated and hurt my skin. I would tend to get breakouts of zits. I used to have really bad break of zits, but that's another story. The only thing that I notice, when I removed with my fingers it made my pores 2 times bigger. The stainless steel blackhead remover does not cost that much, it was only $4.99 when I got it at Ricky's NYC store. Also you can re-use the stainless steel over again, but just make sure that every time you use it be sure to clean the stainless steel with an alcohol wipe after each usage.

So how do you get rid of your blackheads?
